A key priority for maintaining excellence at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney is ensuring that it remains at the forefront of medical innovation and continues to deliver the highest standards of patient care and treatment. Funds raised through the ‘Equipping Your Hospital of the Future’ campaign contribute to funding the latest medical equipment and technology, which enables our doctors and nurses to deliver the most advanced patient diagnosis and treatment options.
A visionary donation by Mr Robert Millner AO and Mrs Janine Millner was directed towards the Hana Operating Table. This surgical table is a specialist orthopaedic system designed to support, position and provide traction for a variety of lower extremity and joint procedures. Hana is well established as a leading technology for patient positioning in hip replacement and fracture repair procedures.
One of St Vincent’s dedicated orthopaedic surgeons who has been using this cutting-edge equipment for hip replacement operations, explains how this benefits patients: “Arthroscopic hip surgery with the Hana Orthopaedic Surgical Table aims to preserve the joint by reshaping the hip anatomy and repairing the labrum. It’s rewarding to see young patients, once disabled by pain, return to sports and a full life. This success, made possible by your generous donations, allows us to offer advanced joint-preserving procedures and provide essential care for both senior patients needing joint replacements and younger patients with pre-arthritic pain.”
