Innovation in medicine has always been the driving force behind advancements in healthcare. In today’s rapidly evolving world, the need for continuous innovation in medicine is more crucial than ever. We are at the cusp of a healthcare revolution, where breakthroughs in medical research, technology, and treatment modalities hold the promise of transforming the way we prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases.
To drive our vision to lead medical innovation in Australia, we have created the St Vincent’s Discovery & Innovation Program.
This program will enhance Clinical Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship across the St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct.
The program will consist of three pillars:
- The Paula Liveris Innovation Hub –will facilitate collaboration and ideation across the precinct to coordinate innovation and project progression across the precinct.
- Challenger Pitch for Health – A precinct wide funding program to identify and support the best in early-stage discovery and translational research. This is now in its second year and has delivered some amazing cutting-edge research, with more than $400,000 of donor funded grants awarded at two ‘Shark Tank’ style Pitch for Health events.
- Research Fellows and Clinician Buy-Back Grants: Additional funding will support key research positions and activities across research teams. Research Fellows are the bedrock of successful research teams, and the Clinician Buy Back program allows St Vincent’s clinicians the opportunity to pursue crucial research that directly supports better patient outcomes. Support for post graduate early career development positions ensures a strong pipeline of young talent into the research sector.
Your pledged support over 3 years can fund:
- An Early Career Research Fellow at $150,000 per year
Your one-off gift can fund:
- A Clinician Buy Back Grant of $50,000
- Research Equipment Grants of between $20,000 – $50,000
- Contribution to Pitch for Health prize pool.
