Award-winning St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney has led the way for over a hundred years as a non-profit healthcare provider, delivering outstanding healthcare to its community since it was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1909.
In 2020, the Hospital completed a transformative redevelopment project. This included the new 13-level Mother Francis McGuigan rsc Wing, conversion to single-occupancy rooms, new operating theatres and surgical suites, and a state-of-art rehabilitation facility. The Foundation extends our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, whose extraordinary generosity contributed $43.7 million towards the total $150 million building and refurbishment costs of this monumental project.
Our current funding priority for the Equipping Your Hospital for the Future Campaign is to acquire the Olympus Advanced Flexible Endoscope, known as ‘the EVIS X1’, which aims to revolutionise the way gastrointestinal disorders can be detected, characterised and treated. Our goal is to secure at least $2 million to support the acquisition of this innovation equipment and thanks to anonymous donation of $1 million, we are already halfway there.
The Foundation works closely with St Vincent’s Private to lead the way in patient care and to support the ongoing and immediate needs of the Hospital, which include:
- Providing our clinicians with the latest equipment for the most advanced diagnosis and treatments. Thanks to Our Equipping Your Hospital of the Future campaign, which has raised over $9 million, we’ve invested in groundbreaking robots and robotic systems. These cutting-edge technologies enhance our capabilities in complex procedures including neurosurgery, and hip and knee orthopaedic surgery.
- Growing the Hospital’s minimally invasive robotic technology to enhance patient recovery. The new interventional cardiology suites will support our minimally invasive valve trials, including the current program for tricuspid valve replacement, which reduces patient hospital stays and enables faster recovery times.
- Supporting clinical education and research in an era of rapidly evolving treatments and cures, supercharged by technology for continually improving healthcare.
