In September 2021, St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital Griffith (SVPCHG) celebrated its 5th birthday since opening its doors to the Murrumbidgee Region. To mark the occasion, the Hospital and the Foundation held an online webinar providing an update on the Hospital’s continuingly expanding services and plans to develop the Hospital into a Regional Health Hub and a world class regional Hospital.
The Regional Health Hub will focus on key services including cardiology, ENT, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and palliative care, and the upskilling and training of staff through our Sydney St Vincent’s teams. These vital services will be supported by clinicians from the St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Campus, providing continuity of care for patients and offering the best healthcare services in a regional setting.
One very important service to be provided is the Heart Health Centre to be led by Consultant Cardiologists A/Prof Andrew Roy, Dr Paul Roy and Dr David Roy, all leading cardiologists at the St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Campus. The Centre will provide cardiac diagnostics to enhance current services, providing infrastructure and confidence for expansion, community awareness and education, and will attract key health specialists to improve local care.
“Our aim is to enhance our ability to provide state of the art outpatient cardiac services for Griffith and the surrounding region through partnerships with existing structures, including GPs, laboratory providers, and radiology services,” said A/Prof Andrew Roy.
To help establish the Regional Health Hub, we are pleased to announce the generous gift of long-term SVPCHG supporters Baiada Poultry and the Camilleri Family. The Camilleri Family are donating $1 million to help set up the Heart Health Centre as part of the SVPCHG Regional Health Hub.
The achievements of our special regional hospital have only been made possible with the wholehearted commitment of many including the Camilleri Family, Baiada Poultry and the Casella/Spagnollo Trust and we thank them for their tremendous support.
