St Vincent’s Private Hospital News

The Ophthalmology Department at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney can continue to deliver pioneering eye surgery with world-class surgical equipment, thanks to generous donations from our kind supporters at St Vincent’s Curran Foundation. These gifts recently enabled St Vincent’s Private to purchase the latest Zeiss OPMI Lumera 700 Ophthalmic operating microscope one of the most advanced surgical operating microscopes in the world.

The Zeiss Lumera 700 microscope’s superb clarity will lead to safer and better surgical outcomes for patients undergoing procedures such as corneal transplantation, glaucoma surgery, advanced cataract surgery and vitreoretinal surgery.

“The Ophthalmology department is very grateful to our supporters for this extremely generous donation. I have already been making use of the new features and this will help our patients achieve the best outcomes available.”
