Thank you for supporting our Intensive Care units

In recent months the Foundation has been actively raising funds to support the planned expansion and enhancement work to be undertaken in the intensive care unit departments of both St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney.

Thanks to the generosity of our family of supporters during our mid-year ICU Upgrade Appeal, the Foundation raised close to $250,000, which will support the purchase of 12 new generation ICU beds (6 in each hospital), ensuring greater comfort and standard of care for our most critical patients.

The planned works will include the construction of a new ICU Pod in the public hospital that will provide superior infection control and isolation capabilities. This will ensure the highest standard of care can continue to be provided to these vulnerable patients who are at most risk from airborne diseases such as COVID-19.

St Vincent’s is renowned for operating one of Australia’s leading ICU facilities, supporting the care and treatment of our most critically ill patients, as well as providing state-wide support for heart and lung transplantation and extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation, respiratory disorders, and our leading blood marrow and stem cell transplant service.

We sincerely thank our supporters for helping us to ensure these essential upgrades can now progress in the coming months.
