Tim, it’s so great to have you join St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’ve taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer, filling in the very big shoes of Robert Cusack who has left to take on an exciting new role at our parent-body St Vincent’s Health Australia. Outside of work, I’m a proud husband, father and golf tragic. I became an Australian citizen in 2016, but still can’t get past barracking for the “All Blacks”, probably never will. I love entertaining and particularly cooking for others, food and wine matching is so important!
And what did you do before working at St Vincent’s?
My background in healthcare spans more than 30 years, initially working on the other side of it in the manufacturing, sales and marketing of orthopaedic
implants in New Zealand, Australia and Europe. This last decade has been specifically in Hospital Administration which I have to say has been both the most challenging but also the most rewarding. Before coming to St Vincent Private Sydney I was CEO of Australia’s largest private teaching hospital –Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane.
What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?
I’m looking forward to a new chapter in the Private Hospital’s history – as we finish and open the new East Wing and begin revamping the existing building. And of course, I’m looking forward to meeting all our loyal supporters at the upcoming Foundation events!
