We’d like to give a huge CONGRATULATIONS to the incredible All for Trace fundraising group! This amazing All for Trace team have just raised more than $300,000 to fund a new patient room at St Vincent’s Hospital!
Since 2015, this fabulous group have fundraised tirelessly for a new room in the Bone Marrow Transplant Ward. The team have run marathons, jumped out of planes and shaved their heads to raise money for the cause. By asking their family, friends and colleagues to sponsor their antics they’ve raised this vital money for St Vincent’s.
Not only that, but they’ve helped the legacy of their friend Trace Richey live on. Trace had a bone marrow transplant at St Vincent’s where he was provided with the best care possible. Even as his health deteriorated he was determined to make the doctors and nurses laugh each and every day! Trace fought valiantly but sadly lost his battle to graft vs host disease in 2015. He spent his life raising money for others, so his friends chose to honour his memory by giving back to the community and to support patients who are faced with a similar health battle.
So we want to say THANK YOU for helping patients for years to come. Your support will contribute to this new Ward, which will provide greater privacy and improved infection control for patients during a difficult time. This room will help countless future patients, a legacy Trace would be so proud of.
Thank you again for helping make a difference and for honouring the wonderful memory of Trace.
