Fight a Fish for Medical Research

Thursday 20 Jun

Each year, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney is honoured to be one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised at the Pirtek Fishing Challenge.  The event will be held on Sunday 15 March 2020 and is a one day catch, photo and release event.  Keen anglers of all ages will compete right across Australia fishing their favourite locations.

The challenge boasts over $215,000 in cash and prizes including fishing products and a trailer package valued at $31,990.

The Pirtek Fishing Challenge raises funds to support the Peter Duncan Neuroscience Research Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital.  The Unit conducts research into neurological conditions such as Alzeimers, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV and neurocognitive activity to find improved treatments.  The work carried out under the direction of Professor Bruce Brew is ground breaking and internationally recognised. The funds raised by the Pirtek Fishing Challenge will go towards ensuring the incredible work continues towards this life-saving goal.

Registration is $25, plus postage. Everyone who registers receives a limited edition Pirtek Fishing Challenge cap and brag mat.
