Enabling the vision of St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Health Precinct
Pioneering compassionate, research-driven healthcare through Australia’s closest collaborations.
First. Together. Always.

In the first of a special 2022 series of Inside St Vincent’s Vision, St Vincent’s Leaders recently shared their ambitious vision for a new era of Translational Research and Heart Lung Innovation which will act as a “springboard” for continued clinical excellence.

Hosted by Richard Haddock AO, Chair, St Vincent’s Curran Foundation Board and Paul McClintock AO, Chair, St Vincent’s Health Australia, our panellists included:

  • Mr Toby Hall, Group CEO, St Vincent’s Health Australia
  • A/Professor Anthony Schembri AM, CEO, St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney
  • Ms Heidi Bayliss, CEO, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney
  • Professor Jason Kovacic, Director Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute

St Vincent’s Health Precinct Sydney is defined by the shared values and heritage of the Sisters of Charity who founded the core St Vincent’s Hospitals and Medical Research Institutes at Darlinghurst. They saw the power of bringing together healthcare, research and education to breakthrough complex health issues. This legacy continues to be the driving force of our healthcare, research and teaching endeavours.

Today, the Precinct is home to three prominent partners: St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, standing alongside St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney.

Together their focus is to ensure that St Vincent’s remains at the forefront of medical and clinical research, delivering the best possible patient care to our vulnerable populations and community.

The shared heritage and co-location of the founding Precinct partners, along with Government, philanthropy and community support has enabled St Vincent’s to grow and leverage our collective capabilities for the benefit of all.

The role of Philanthropy is crucial to implement this ambitious development and support the vision of the Founding Sisters.

We hope you enjoy this special Inside St Vincent’s Sydney Precinct Vision Webinar as we share more about the exciting new developments and how we are working First. Together. Always.
