Nursing Education Scholarships

We’re now inviting nurses at St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney to apply for scholarships to complete postgraduate studies. These scholarships will give nurses who demonstrate leadership, service and clinical capabilities, the opportunity to undertake post-graduate qualifications in the field of their interest.

Together with the Jarry Family and a number of other visionary benefactors, we’re now funding the following scholarships:

  • The Curran Family scholarship for Medical Nursing
  • The Benedict Industries scholarship for Mental Health Nursing
  • The Alpe Family scholarships for Surgical Nursing
  • The Cooper Family Scholarship for Geriatrics Nursing
  • The LifeHealthcare Scholarship for Stroke Nursing

These scholarships are awarded to exceptional nurses who have demonstrated teamwork, leadership and an aptitude to specialist nursing skills in their field.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are available to nurses across the St Vincent’s Health Network including Sacred Heart Health Service and St Joseph’s Hospital. To be eligible to apply for one of the named scholarships, applicants must have:

  • Completed a bachelor degree in nursing;
  • Undertaken two years of service at St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney;
  • Demonstrate their alignment and commitment to the St Vincent’s mission and values;
  • Provide evidence of clinical leadership or leadership potential, strong teamwork skills and a commitment to clinical excellent; and
  • complete two years service upon completion of their scholarship funded studies

Successful Applicants

Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by 22 December 2017.

All scholarship recipients will be required to submit a 500-word report at the completion of the scholarship period, make provision to attend relevant Foundation events for benefactors of the scholarship program and consent to be featured in relevant benefactor communications.
