Nursing Excellence has been central to St Vincent’s Hospital’s clinical care since 1857.
Our Nurses offer compassionate medical care to all of our patients in their time of need. Our nurses make up the largest segment of our workforce at St Vincent’s Hospitals.
However, the health challenges of the future cannot be overcome without a strong nursing workforce. Inspired by the success of The Jarry Program for Intensive Care Nursing, our ambition is to support our workplace though ongoing improvement and patient safety. Furthermore, we will underpin this by further education, leadership and clinical research across all areas of nursing.
Through our Nursing Excellence campaign, we aim to deliver support to all areas. These areas include ICU, correctional and mental health, cancer, heart lung, palliative care, Indigenous healthcare and emergency nursing, for instance. With this intention, we will strengthen our nursing work force to meet the health challenges of today and the future.
We are seeking support to provide opportunities for our nurses in the following areas:
- Nursing Scholarships
- Indigenous Cadetships
- Nurse Education Programs
- Nursing Research Fellowships
- Nursing Research PhD programs
We can continue to provide exceptional care to all our patients now, and into the future. We will set new standards for quality nursing care across Australia.
With this in mind, find out how you can Support Nursing Excellence today. Help empower the next generation of nurses, to be the leaders, practitioners and advocates for you and the health of your family.
