In February 2023 the Foundation welcomed more than 80 guests from far and wide to a supporters thank you luncheon for supporting our mission. Due to COVID-19 this was the first lunch event together since 2019. The lunch was hosted by Charles Curran AC, Chairman of Trustees and Richard Haddock AO, Chairman of the Board, and included eight Sisters of Charity, as well as a very special group of supporters who have left a gift in their Will to St Vincent’s. Sister Margaret Beirne rsc, a Trustee of the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation, delivered an entertaining and passionate address. She highlighted the early work of Mary Aikenhead in the formation of the Ministry that St Vincent’s adheres to almost two hundred years on.
A delicious cold luncheon, perfect for a hot summer’s day, was provided by Serena Sanderson Catering. The Sanderson family are long-time supporters of St Vincent’s, and Serena’s parents, Greg and Elizabeth, were present at the event.
After such a long hiatus, guests enjoyed catching up and talking about their journey and why they support St Vincent’s. Lunch guest Steven Beverling, pictured above with Rosemary Kerr, explained why he has left a bequest to St Vincent’s.
“I’ve included St Vincent’s in my Will because I owe my life to their excellent and loving care and support when I was diagnosed with HIV in 1996 and continuing. I encourage you to leave a gift in your Will to St Vincent’s so they can continue their legacy of excellent, compassionate and respectful care for all who need it.”
St Vincent’s is deeply grateful for every bequest, whether small, large or in between – all gifts in Wills make a positive difference to the provision of excellent health care for future generations.
