Vale Eva Curran 1941-2023

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Eva Curran and pay tribute to her contribution for over half her lifetime to the development of St Vincent’s Curran Foundation to support St Vincent’s Hospitals.

As the beloved wife of Charles Curran AC, the Foundations Chair of Trustees, Eva was a guiding light standing right beside Charles since the Foundation’s inception in 1984.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Eva was a woman of grace, style, intelligence, warmth and generosity with an unmatched ability to engage people from all walks-of-life through conversation.

Eva’s philanthropic and community activities extended far and wide, and the Foundation and St Vincent’s will forever be grateful for her support, leadership, and friendship of more than 40 years.

St Vincent’s Hospitals would not be the inspirational institutions that they are today without Eva’s incredible contribution for over half her lifetime to the development of the Foundation through her own efforts, and through her unstinting support of Charles.

We are all extremely blessed to have known Eva, whose role in the Foundation has been so much more than we can put into words, and Eva’s passing is an immense loss we all feel deeply.  We will miss her guidance, commitment, friendship and individuality.

All of us at the Foundation and across the St Vincent’s Family, send our deepest condolences to Charles and the Curran and Carroll families.

May Eva rest in eternal peace.
